The Secret to Becoming a Millionaire in Nigeria: It’s About Partnership

Some weeks ago, I was invited to an interview where a young man asked me a very direct question:

“What are the ways one can become a millionaire in Nigeria?”

I smiled, because the truth is simple but often overlooked. If you want to become a millionaire, you must know someone who knows someone who knows how to make money. In other words, wealth is not created in isolation; it flows through relationships, connections, and partnerships.

But here’s the challenge: how many people can a rich man sit down with one-on-one? How many conversations can he have daily to explain how he made his money? Not many. And that’s exactly why the rich share their knowledge through books, podcasts, seminars, and videos. They multiply their influence by teaching others, and anyone who pays attention can learn and apply the same principles.

That was my answer to the interviewer. And it aligns perfectly with my own journey. I’ve always believed in the power of connection and collaboration. It is this belief that led me to write my book The Power of Partnership: Your Guide to Business Growth in Nigeria.

In the book, I explained how anyone — whether you’re a small business owner, a hustler starting out, or someone dreaming of financial freedom — can grow faster by partnering with others. You don’t need to carry every burden alone. By connecting with people who already have what you lack (skills, resources, networks, or knowledge), you can achieve more than you could ever do by yourself.

That is the real millionaire secret:

👉🏽 It’s not about working harder in isolation.

👉🏽 It’s about connecting smarter, learning from those ahead of you, and partnering your way to growth.

So, when people ask me how to become rich in Nigeria, my answer is clear: find someone who knows what you don’t, learn from them, and partner where possible. Wealth grows in circles, not in silos.

And that’s the message I’m committed to sharing — through my speaking, my work, and of course, through my book.
