Attracting Clients & Communication Discover how to position yourself to attract the right clients, communicate professionally, and handle every inquiry with confidence.

Week 04

Negotiation, Ethics & the Business of Hosting Master pricing, negotiation strategies, professional ethics, and the business fundamentals that turn a gig into a sustainable career.

Week 05

Virtual Event Hosting: Tips & Tools Understand the unique demands of virtual events: Tech, energy management, audience engagement, and platform confidence.

Week 06 

Live Virtual Hosting Experience ✦ LIVE PRACTICUM Host a real virtual event, observed, evaluated, and given direct feedback by the facilitator. This is where theory becomes proof.

Programme Format

Shine On Stage is designed as an interactive hybrid (virtual + in-person) experience to meet you where you are, refine your talent and empower you with the relevant tools and techniques to kickstart your professional MC career.

Q: Do I need prior experience as an MC to join? Not at all. Shine On Stage is designed specifically for emerging MCs. Whether you're starting from scratch or have hosted a handful of events and want to do it properly. What matters most is your commitment to learning and growing.

Q: How is the programme delivered? The programme runs in a hybrid format over six weeks. Weekly sessions are delivered through pre-recorded videos online as well as live virtual review sessions, so you can participate from anywhere in the world. The programme concludes with an in-person experience held in Lagos, Nigeria.

Q: Is attendance at the Lagos in-person session compulsory? The in-person Lagos session is a core part of the Shine On Stage experience. It is where everything you've learned comes alive on a real stage. Participants are strongly encouraged to attend. Details on logistics will be shared upon registration.

Q: How much time do I need to commit each week? Shine On Stage is structured to be intense but manageable. You should expect to dedicate 2 - 3 hours to live sessions, assignments, and self-practice each week. Exact session schedules will be communicated to registered participants ahead of the start date. 

Q: Will I get personal feedback on my performance? Yes. In Week 6, you will host a live virtual event that is directly observed and evaluated by the facilitator, Damilola Busari. You will receive detailed, practical and personalised feedback to help you hone your event hosting skills. 

Q: What makes this different from watching YouTube tutorials or free online content? Structure, accountability, and access. Free content gives you fragments. Shine On Stage gives you a complete, sequenced curriculum built by a practitioner with nearly 2 decades of real experience in addition to live interaction, personal feedback, a peer community, and post-programme mentorship and internship opportunities that no YouTube channel can offer.

Q: Who is eligible for the mentorship and internship opportunities? Participants who complete the programme are eligible to be considered for mentorship and internship opportunities. These are not automatic and are offered based on engagement, performance, and commitment demonstrated throughout the launchpad.

Q: Is this programme only for people based in Lagos or Nigeria? The six weeks of online sessions are open to participants regardless of location. However, you should factor in travel to Lagos for the in-person finale when considering registration.
